  • Hotel Stage Reports Significant Reductions in Plastic Waste

Hotels have embraced the new "Plastic Free" regulations, which prohibit the provision of free disposable plastic toiletries to guests. Hotel Stage's General Manager, Mr. Alex Wu Shui-Lun, stated that the hotel has replaced seven types of plastic toiletries with sustainable alternatives and installed water filtration systems. In the first month alone, the hotel reduced its use of disposable plastic bottles by approximately 3,000 and small plastic toiletry bottles by 5,000. Wu noted that eco-friendly tourism is becoming increasingly popular, and guests have shown no dissatisfaction with the new policies, often bringing their own toiletries.

  • TamJai International Adapts to "Plastic-Free" Policy

TamJai International, which operates over 190 branches of TamJai Yunnan Mixian and TamJai SamGor Mixian, has been using eco-friendly utensils since October 2023. The company's Corporate Planning Director, Mr. Ko Chun-Yu, mentioned that about 70% of their takeaway customers now refuse disposable utensils. Despite the higher cost of sustainable utensils, the overall operational costs have remained unaffected due to the reduction in disposable utensil usage. Staff training was provided a month before the policy implementation to educate employees on the new procedures and the environmental benefits of eco-friendly utensils.

What we do

Our goal is to teach people about ESG in a fun and interesting way. All the projects we work on are based on the United Nations 17 Sustainable Development Goals. These goals are a set of important objectives that the United Nations has created to make the world a better and more sustainable place.  We want more people all around the world to know about these goals and support them.

Here are the 3 things we do:

  1. TRAINING We teach people and help them learn about the Sustainable Development Goals and ESG impacts to their daily lives.
  2. CAMPAIGN We design projects and do activities to spread awareness about the Sustainable Development Goals.
  3. SEMINAR We organize meetings where people can come together to talk about important topics and learn from each other.

ESG PRACTICE BEGAN IN THE 1960s

ESG investing has gained popularity in recent years as investors increasingly consider environmental, social, and corporate governance factors when making investment decisions. According to the CFA Institute, factors such as climate change and social justice have influenced this trend.

   - 88% of public companies and about two-thirds of privately-owned companies have ESG initiatives in place

   - Nearly 70% of employees say they wouldn't work for a company without a strong purpose.

   - Companies that embrace corporate philanthropy and social initiatives can foster greater employee engagement, satisfaction, and retention.

   - 89% of investors consider ESG issues in some form as part of their investment approach.

   - Just 13% of global investors see ESG as a passing fad.
